‘Your Friend, Nate Bargatze’
Your Friend, Nate Bargatze is a solid hour of smart, relatable humor. The comedian has seemingly been everywhere lately — he recently starred in a primetime special on CBS, appeared at the Golden Globes, and hosted Saturday Night Live for a second time — but Bargatze’s star shines brightest when he’s on stage casually deconstructing life’s inevitable headaches. In his newest Netflix special, the prolific storyteller mines humor from relatable everyday issues like Starbucks coffee orders, marital quarrels, and McDonald’s drive-thru snafus. A number of sensational standup specials dropped at the end of 2024 — I recommend Ilana Glazer: Human Magic, Fortune Feimster: Crushing It, and Jim Gaffigan: The Skinny, — but Your Friend, Nate Bargatze might just be the best of the bunch.
