TEHRAN — Iran reported 2,563 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking the total number to 192,439, official IRNA news agency reported.
Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said that 115 people died overnight from the virus, taking the total fatalities to 9,065.
So far, a total of 152,675 have recovered and 2,815 remain in critical condition, said Lari. (Iran-COVID-19)

BEIRUT — Chinese peacekeepers in the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) received a UN medal on Tuesday for their contribution to keeping peace in southern Lebanon.
A medal-awarding ceremony was held at the Chinese troops’ camp in Hanniyah village in southern Lebanon, with the attendance of Head of Mission and Force Commander of the UNIFIL Stefano Del Col, Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian, representatives of the Lebanese armed forces and fellow peacekeepers. KUWAIT CITY — Chinese military medical experts on Tuesday held a video conference with Kuwaiti military officials and counterparts to exchange experiences in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the conference, the two sides briefed each other on the army’s participation in the COVID-19 prevention and control.
The medical experts from both sides also exchanged experiences on epidemic prevention and control, diagnostic testing, clinical treatment, and vaccine research and development. (Kuwait-China-Conference)
