Why Aren’t Progressives Raging Against the Homophobic Pro-Hamas Protesters Who Blocked a Pride March?
Progressives have a lot of rules. In fact, they have so many rules that it is nearly impossible to avoid their crybullying. However, a recent situation involving the pro-Hamas lobby illustrates that these rules are never to be applied consistently.

RedState’s Bonchie wrote about an incident that occurred in Philadelphia between participants in a Pride march and pro-Hamas activists.
Videos have emerged showing the two sides meeting head-on, with some holding signs reading “no pride in genocide.” Half-naked men in bondage gear can be seen trying to escort the parade around the blockade. There appeared to be some pushing and shoving as well.
The footage shows pro-Hamas activists blocking the march, which is intended to promote LGBTQ activism.

So, the question is: Where is the outrage? Where are the widespread accusations of homophobia and transphobia against the pro-Hamas activists? After all, couldn’t they have just held their anti-Israel demonstration on a different day or perhaps in a different part of the city?
According to the precepts of progressivism, if one does anything to offend the LGBTQ community, the punishment is supposed to be widespread condemnation as a bigot – even if the target doesn’t actually hate members of the alphabet community. Under these guidelines, the actions of the pro-Hamas activists are clearly rooted in anti-LGBTQ bigotry.

Yet, the woke Sanhedrin has declined to issue their usual punishment against those who transgress against progressive orthodoxy. Even the fact that the pro-Hamas crowd is defending and propping up a brutal terrorist regime that routinely abuses and kills LGBTQ Palestinians in Gaza isn’t enough to earn the ire of the progressive left.
Imagine how different the reaction would have been if a bunch of MAGA hat-wearing Trump supporters had impeded a Pride march. Left-wing media outlets would be giving wall-to-wall coverage of these oppressive MAGA Republicans inflicting their anti-LGBTQ views on marginalized communities. Democratic politicians would be calling for action against these mean-spirited individuals.
But, when progressive anti-Jewish bigots dare to interfere with a Pride march, we are met with a chorus of crickets coming from the activist left.
There is a simple explanation for this: Progressives don’t actually mean what they say.
We have seen numerous examples of the far left being selective about who they enforce their beliefs on. If one espouses progressive viewpoints, they can literally almost do no wrong. As long as they are preaching the tenets of wokeism, they can engage in outright bigotry without having to face consequences – as long as that bigotry is used against an appropriate target.

However, in this case, the pro-Hamas crowd actually did go after a group that progressives claim to champion. This is where the hard left’s warped view of intersectionality comes into play. The Palestinians are apparently higher on the oppression index, which means their concerns are more important than LGBTQ folks who are not Palestinians living in Gaza.
Yes, it’s a weird system based entirely on a nonsensical hierarchy. This is because the progressive powers that be don’t actually care about the marginalized people they claim to support. Their ultimate objective is to use these people to push their agenda, which has nothing to do with protecting anyone but everything to do with amassing power.
