Vic police blitz targets drug traffickers

Australia

Police will crack down on drug traffickers near Melbourne’s supervised injecting room during a three-week blitz aimed to stamp out the trade.

Officers will be out in force from Monday until January 20 during a targeted operation in a bid to detect and deter drug offences at hotspots within the City of Yarra.

“The aim of Operation Apollo is to reduce drug harm and the number of drug traffickers operating in Richmond by identifying and processing drug offenders to ensure the community can feel confident and safe,” Acting Inspector Trish Duke said.
