HBO’s gloriously glamorous “eat the rich” murder mystery series, The White Lotus, is finally back. Creator/director/writer Mike White sets the drama this time around in the idyllic White Lotus Thailand. Season 1 standout Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) is back in Season 3, this time enjoying a sort of exchange program within the fictional resort chain’s spas. While Belinda tries to soak up the serenity of Thailand, three groups of visitors can’t help but court chaos: the uppity Ratliff clan, a mismatch romantic pairing, and a trio of long-time frenemies. Even if the structure and satire of The White Lotus Season 3 feels ever so slightly tired, Mike White’s gorgeous direction and the star-studded cast ensure HBO’s hit show is still the best wealth porn on television. The White Lotus is still the one show of its genre that you absolutely want to check in for.
