The Left Might Have Just Released the Cringiest Anti-Trump Ad You’ll Ever See

Breaking News Politics USA World

One of the fun things about election season is that I can always look forward to the left releasing ads, and I don’t mean directly from the DNC. Sometimes it’s private citizens or special interest groups releasing them, and they’re usually so over-the-top and bombastic that they enter the so-bad-it’s-good territory. Privately made election-season ads are honestly like Super Bowl commercials for me.

Fun fact: As I was writing this article I was going to give some examples of the ones made for Hillary Clinton, and it seems like the more popular ones were scrubbed from the internet. I’m going to assume the absolute shaming they got after Trump won was just too much.

But never fear, Kamala Harris ads are coming out that are just as bad. A ridiculous ad was released by a group called “Bardo.” A woman named Eva Paterson created a video that takes a lot of Trump’s own words completely out of context and used them to create what I can only describe as “unintentionally hilarious.”

The goal of video maker Eva Paterson was to convince swing voters to vote for Kamala Harris by using these out-of-context quotes according to the Bardo website

BARDO, the team that brought this project to life, began with a poll commissioned by Elizabeth Cabraser and Eva Paterson.  It revealed that uncommitted voters could be swayed if made aware of Trump’s alarming statements, such as his willingness to terminate the Constitution or act as a dictator.  50% of voters in America are swing voters.

Our poll showed that this information could shift 7% of these swing voters toward the Democratic ticket. In response, Paterson began creating a dystopian video to highlight the dangers of a Trump re-election, incorporating animation and a strong creative team. With $150,000 raised, the Bardo team believes this effort could be crucial in deciding between Vice President Harris or President Trump.

The ad opens with multi-ethnic groups of people sitting in a restaurant, enjoying their peaceful lives, when suddenly a news report comes on indicating Trump won the 2024 election. For some reason, the news report is a cartoon, which fits since this is all really cartoonish stuff. It cuts to Trump sitting on the Abe Lincoln Memorial statue’s chair, having thrown the statue of Abe off somehow and grown large enough to fit in the chair.

Trump proceeds to rip the Constitution as the news reporter says he’s going to remain in office far beyond his term. It then warns that Trump is sending Seal Team Six to hunt down his enemies. Military men then bust into the home of a multi-ethnic family as Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor’s ridiculous dissent is quoted about how assassination is now among Trump’s legal avenues.

A snake then breaks the statute of Justice, and a quote appears from Sotomayor’s dissent again, saying that Trump is now “a king above the law.”

Trump is then quoting stating that he’s not going to be a dictator except on day one, and that he is the retribution for those who were betrayed.

To be clear, Trump clarified that when he said that, he was referring to various things like opening up drilling in the United States and sealing the border. The comment was more of a jest than a serious threat of dictatorship.

The video ends with a black man chastising a white woman who didn’t vote.

I don’t know who is going to be convinced by this. It’s so over the top and cartoonish that I can’t help but think it’s going to make undecided voters laugh more than think, but that’s pretty par for the course when it comes to leftist campaign ads.

For being a supposed party of the people, the left seems to have a horrible track record of knowing how to talk to the people they’re trying to win over. Last week I wrote about the horrendous “White Dudes for Harris” ad which looked like it was written by a group of people who’ve never seen a man but had a very broad description of what they were like.

All I ask is that the left keep making these videos. We need good comedy during serious times like election season.
