Culiacán, Sinaloa.– Following a report of a fight, a new search was carried out at the Aguaruto Penitentiary Center in Culiacán, where cell phones, radios, knives, screwdrivers, gram scales, satellite internet systems and modems, among other prohibited objects, were seized.
During the early hours of this Friday, February 7, 2025, the National Guard and the State Preventive Police carried out security actions outside provided by the Secretariat of National Defense.
It should be remembered that the persons deprived of liberty reported an alleged fight and armed subjects in module 5 of the Aguaruto prison. So far this information has not been confirmed by the authorities.
This was found in the Aguaruto Prison:
-A machete
-A short axe
-56 knives and razors
-7 cutters
-10 scissors
-6 screwdrivers
-2 hammers
-2 gram scales
-2 doses of marijuana
-2 Starlink systems
-39 cell phones
-10 cell phone cards
-3 mobile broadband internet
-5 modems.
All of these prohibited objects were made available to the ministerial authority so that the relevant investigations can be carried out and responsibilities can be determined.
It should be noted that, according to the authorities, the actions in terms of prevention and security were carried out without incidents within the Aguaruto prison.
These works were carried out by personnel from the National Guard and the State Public Security Secretariat, through the State Preventive Police, with the support of the National Defense Secretariat, as well as the Navy Secretariat, the Attorney General’s Office and the State Attorney General’s Office.
Public Security urged citizens to responsibly use 911 to request help in any emergency and 089 to make anonymous complaints.
