Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is an epic cinematic experience, streaming now on Peacock. Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult) is sent to Transylvania for a meeting with Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgard), unknowingly entering a trap set for his young wife, Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp), who is waiting for him at home in Germany. The gothic tale, which is just as sexy as it is grotesque, captures Count Orlok’s deadly obsession with Ellen and the horror it leaves in its wake with a chilling gloom that permeates everything, much like Ellen’s shame. Eggers’ take on the vampire classic is a can’t-miss event.
