‘North of North’

It might be time to start breaking out the sundresses and sandals, but not in the fictional Arctic town of Ice Cove, Nunavut, which serves as the setting for Netflix’s newest series North of North. The eight-episode comedy, which takes place in the northernmost part of Canada, follows the trials and tribulations of a young Inuk mother after she leaves her husband and reinvents herself within her community. North of North tells Siaja’s (Anna Lambe) story in an intriguing and humorous way, while carefully weaving in darker themes pertaining to the treatment of Indigenous people over time. If you’re in need of a new comfort show, look no further than North of North!
