NJ Gov and Teachers Busted as the Latest ‘Rules for Thee’ Hypocrites

Breaking News Politics USA World

We have a “two-for” “Rules for Thee” story today.

We’ve been following the hypocritical stories of Democrats who push for vaccination mandates and pandemic restrictions but then don’t follow those rules themselves. Our last one was California Governor Gavin Newsom saying he would impose a mandate on school kids 12 and up to be vaccinated, but not having his own daughter vaccinated yet.

Today’s story hits both a Democratic politician and a school boards association.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphywas in attendance at the Garden State Equality Ball where he was partying down in Asbury Park. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) was also there. Both were maskless.

Among the people in attendance were teachers from the Essex County Educators Association (ECEA) who posted pictures of the party.

Lo and behold, virtually no one was wearing a mask — neither the teachers nor Murphy — although the event was held completely indoors. This despite the state’s mandate that all faculty, students, and staff have to wear face masks while in school all day and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

“Our 2nd VP Chris Cannella along with our LGBTQ+ Committee Chair Micah Gary-Fryer enjoyed the Garden State Equality Ball last night along with NJEA [New Jersey Education Association] leadership and staff,” the ECEA tweeted.

The Shore News quipped:

“Murphy’s Law in the state of New Jersey declares that all faculty, students, and staff must wear face masks while in school. It requires them to adhere to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and the New Jersey Department of Health. Murphy’s Law also declares that those same teachers can party the night away indoors, maskless and without social distancing if the event includes Governor Phil Murphy and is without children. Murphy recommends that if you are unsure of the vaccination status of those around you, facemasks should be worn,” our original report stated.

After the Shore News broke the story, the ECEA deleted the pictures they had posted of the event, but of course, the internet is forever — and it was a little too late to cover up the story.

Now, Murphy is getting blasted by other politicians.

State Senator Holly Schepisi told Fox News in an email statement that the maskless party “is this type of hypocrisy that is driving people in New Jersey insane.”

“At the very same time that this Governor issued another EO mandating two year olds wear masks for upwards of 7 hours a day because of purported ‘safety,’ the New Jersey political democratic elite gathered maskless by the thousands at multiple indoor events throughout the State, including in “high-risk” Asbury Park, Bergen and Hudson Counties,” Schepisi continued.

“The people of New Jersey are being told by this administration that they must comply, don’t ask questions or get labeled a knucklehead or worse while those demanding compliance flout the very policies they push,” she added. “It is wrong.”

Schepisi’s fellow state Senator Michael Testa said that the maskless merrymaking was “another example of Murphy’s hypocrisy as he continues to force pointless pandemic mandates on regular New Jerseyans that he and other elite Democrats cavalierly ignore when they think nobody is watching.”

“We can imagine King Murphy saying to the laughter of his court, ‘Let them wear masks,’” he added.

Indeed. It really feels like they are mocking us at this point, when they would put kids through seven hours of masks in a day, while they party without them at night.

While New Jersey is still imposing masks in schools, in healthcare settings, and on public transportation, Murphy is recommending them in other situations, as when people are “packed in on each other, and you’re not confident that you know the vaccination status of the people that you’re around.” Oh, just like at the very party he was at.

This is so hypocritical. Even the rules make no sense — requiring it in a less likely situation with young children versus making it just a recommendation for adults. But then, he doesn’t even adhere to his own recommendation. Plus of course, vaccinated people can pass the virus as well, so that really doesn’t change that it can be transmitted.

But this nails both Murphy and the educators as the latest “Rules for Thee but Not for Me” violators.
