Netflix has picked up yet another series from Canada to distribute worldwide. It’s another car docuseries which gets added to the many Netflix has either produced or acquired in recent years. Here’s what you need to know about Rust Valley Restorers.
The series follows a familiar format where it’s technically a documentary series but also a reality series. It follows three guys who spend their time at a huge junkyard flipping cars for cash.
Mike Hall is the main star of the show with his collection of cars famously being over 400. Mike Hall’s son and long-time friend Avery Shoaf also star.
Netflix labels the series as “gritty” and “wacky”.
The series aired on HISTORY in Canada at the end of 2018 with season 1 finishing up in February 2019.

When will Rust Valley Restorers be on Netflix?
Six episodes of Rust Valley Restorers are due to arrive on Netflix around the world on August 23rd, 2019.
Netflix has managed to pick up a few shows from HISTORY in the past. In many regions, Netflix carries Vikings and the US carries Knightfall (season 2 coming in August 2019 in the US).
Car shows have been coming to Netflix thick and fast in recent years possibly to replace the BBC’s Top Gear which left in 2018 and and to combat Amazon’s Grand Tour series. Also releasing in August is a series called Hyperdrive which is essentially an American Ninja format show for cars.
No second season of the show has been announced but from past pickups like this, Netflix usually picks up shows with multiple seasons in mind.
Can’t wait for Rust Valley Restorers to drop on Netflix? Netflix has you covered. Last year, Netflix added a very similar series in premise called “Car Masters: Rust to Riches”. The eight-episode first season is streaming now on Netflix globally.
