‘Mr. McMahon’
Mr. McMahon is an absorbing, sometimes difficult-to-watch documentary that purportedly chronicles the rise and fall of WWE co-founder Vince McMahon. The six-episode series from filmmaker Chris Smith offers sporadic glimpses into the mind of wrestling’s most notorious promoter, but at its core, Mr. McMahon is more of a detailed history of WWE than a complete McMahon documentary. The series provides many enthralling moments — the complicated father/son relationship between Vince and Shane McMahon stands out — but fails to live up to its massive hype. Is Mr. McMahon worth watching? Yes, especially if you’re a pro wrestling fan. But set your expectations accordingly.
