Meet Myanmar’s young volunteers training to overthrow the country’s military junta

A dense bamboo forest surrounds a training ground in eastern Myanmar where more than 100 young people, most of them in their 20s, undergo rigorous military drills.

The recruits, representing people from all walks of life, ranging from former chefs and journalists to rappers and poets, have joined the resistance movement to overthrow Myanmar’s junta, which seized power in a military coup in 2021.
