We have a very good relationship with the government of President Donald Trump, we have a very good relationship with the US government

The president of Mexico, Andrés
Manuel López Obrador, reiterated that there is a good relationship with the
United States government and also with his counterpart Donald Trump, and
considers that it is a “point of view, that is respected as such.”

Faced with criticism from the
United States that Mexico does not do enough in the fight against drug
trafficking, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that these are opinions
from an annual report, some of which are not shared by Mexico but is respected,
and ruled out a confrontation.

“It is a report that is
presented every year by the United States government and has good things, and
others that we do not accept, but
 is a
point of view that is respected, it is an opinion basically and we are not going
to confront each other regarding opinions, we have a very good relationship with
the government of President Donald Trump, we have a very good relationship with
the US government and we are not going to fall into any political
confrontation.” said the Mexican president.

In the 2020 version of the
Presidential Memorandum to Determine the Major Countries for the Production and
Transit of Illegal Drugs, Trump applauded progress by the López Obrador
government, but asked to do more to protect Mexicans and Americans from the
cartels.

“Love and peace,” said
López Obrador.
