Live: Broncos and Storm kick off NRL finals with second straight Lang Park clash

Australia World

Hello Jon, I’ve got a hunch Brisbane are going to end Melbourne’s winning streak at Lang Park tonight – I can feel it in my statistics.

I think I’m tipping them too, Mike.

The Storm have won 14 straight against the Broncos, 24 of the last 26 and haven’t dropped a game against Brisbane in Brisbane since 2009.

The last time it happened, the Storm still had Slater, Smith, Cronk and GI.

Darren Lockyer, Karmichael Hunt, Justin Hodges, Sam Thaiday and Corey Parker were all getting around for Brisbane.

It honestly feels like a generation ago.

With Payne Haas, Adam Reynolds, Reece Walsh, Pat Carrigan and Ezra Mam, I think they have more explosive attacking talent, so literally anything is possible. But it’s defensively where they really need to turn up. Craig Bellamy, Cameron Munster, Harry Grant and Jahrome Hughes have been plotting all week, and that’s tough to keep out.
