After 16 days of being deprived of his freedom, Javier Maximiliano, a high school student at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, was released by his captors early Thursday morning at the door of his home in the 4 de Marzo subdivision in Culiacan.

Josefina Carrillo, mother of the teenager who will be 18 years old this June 20, said that it was around 1:30 am when he was left at the door of his home.

Carrillo Grajeda said that Javier Maximiliano was left with his face covered with the T-shirt he was wearing the night of the deprivation of his freedom.

The Central High School student, she added, was told by his captors not to move for five minutes.

Josefina Carrillo reserved the right to give more information about her son’s release for fear of possible reprisals.
