Illegal Aliens Set Up Camp Occupying Community Center’s Tennis Courts in Seattle

Breaking News Politics USA World

Do you happen to live in Seattle, and thought you might make use of the Garfield Tennis Courts, part of a local community center? Well, you can’t. A band of illegal aliens from Venezuela have taken it over, setting up tents and establishing yet another illegal Bidenville.

The group pleaded for help through an online fundraising campaign Monday as they were due to check out of the Quality Inn the following day. The hotel general manager told KOMO News the refugees’ latest hotel stay was funded by Plymouth Church, which was reportedly connected to the refugees through King County.

In recent months, members of the 240-person group staying at the Quality Inn in Kent approached Seattle City Council members on two occasions to ask for funding to extend their hotel stay. Seattle provided support for a month the first time, but declined the second.

It’s unclear why a local church was funding these people who are in the country illegally. One thing that churches have historically done pretty well is charity, but as my mother used to say, “Charity starts at home.” Are there no poverty-stricken people in King County, Washington, that this Plymouth Church could be helping out? Why focus, as so many non-government organizations (NGOs) are doing, on people who legally shouldn’t even be here? Why, for that matter, are the many various levels of government trying desperately to do anything that doesn’t involve sending these illegal aliens back?

The city doesn’t seem too interested in helping solve the problem:

“After investing in shelter to meet immediate needs, city funding for migrants experiencing homelessness has been exhausted,” a city spokesperson said Tuesday via statement to KOMO News. “We urge the group to work with the state of Washington who have the authority and resources to address this ongoing humanitarian need.”

This instance, of course, is just one piece of a much larger problem, but it’s one that begs some questions.

First: Who is running the Plymouth Church, and why are they funding illegal aliens’ hotel rooms? Did they play any role in bringing these people to Washington in the first place?

Second: Why is King County or the city of Seattle – or, we should say, the taxpayers of those jurisdictions – responsible for providing housing for these illegal aliens?

Third: Would not the proper response to the presence of these people, upon determining that they are in the country illegally, to turn them over to Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) to have them deported back to where they came from?

There are plenty of people in the federal government complaining about this problem. But nobody, starting with befuddled old President Biden himself, seems to want to acknowledge the obvious: All we have to do is enforce the law and send those people back when they are caught. Do enough of that, and the influx will slow to a trickle; do more of it, oh, and cut off the gravy train from well-meaning but clueless NGOs, cities, and states, and in time, some people will start to self-deport.

The simplest answers are usually the best ones. Send them back.
