After such an unexpected twist so early into Season 2 of The Last of Us, the big question on fans’ minds is whether there will be even more episodes, and if so, how many.

There is no waiting for things to heat up this season. Episode 2 delivered action and invoked emotion. DECIDER considers it one of HBO’s most upsetting endings to an episode. Nearly identical to The Last of Us II video game, Joel (Pedro Pascal) was killed by the surviving fireflies from Episode 201 right before Ellie’s (Bella Ramsey) eyes, vowing to kill them all.

As if things weren’t bad enough, a horde of zombies launched an all-out assault on the Jackson settlement, destroying and killing many members of the community. They fend off the horde, but their home and family will never be the same.

Fans wonder how many episodes are left after a monumental turn of events so early into the season.
