Although officers were shot at, no one was injured and the two women, aged 20 and 33, who had been kidnapped from a rehabilitation center, were brought to safety.

Elements of the Ministerial Agency for Criminal Investigation (AMIC), of the FGJE Sonora, rescued two females, after a persecution. They repelled an armed aggression and arrested those allegedly responsible.

The agents, of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora (FGJE), arrested two individuals identified as Rubén Antonio “N.”, 29, Julio Edgardo “N.”, 29, and Óscar Alan “N.”, 40.

They were arrested following the attack on July 7, in the streets of the Solidarity neighborhood, where AMIC elements were attacked with gunfire, no one was injured.

They report the illegal detention of women

At around 12:48 p.m. on Wednesday 7, people went to the facilities of the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency to report the illegal detention of two women, aged 20 and 33.

Both were interned in a rehabilitation center, located in the Lomas neighborhood of Madrid, when two men carrying weapons, forcibly removed the victims and took them away in a sedan vehicle.

Immediately, agents of the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office mounted a search operation, managing to locate the blue 2019 Chevrolet Beat in the streets Nudo Mixteco and Solidaridad, where they were stopped.

In response, the AMIC elements were shot at by their occupants, who fled. A Code Red was activated initiating a chase until the vehicle of the assailants crashed into the base of a sidewalk.

The occupants raced away. But were later caught and detained by the elements of the Prosecutor’s Office. The two females were rescued, one was in a vehicle and the other inside a home.

Rubén Antonio “N.”, Julio Edgardo and “N.” Óscar Alan “N.” was transferred to the AMIC where they were at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The victims received psychological care and support from the CAVID personnel, as well as legal advice. The investigation is still ongoing.
