“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat

The quick reflexes of this merchant allowed him to literally live to tell the tale. A video is circulating on social networks that was recorded by a security camera in which you can see when a shopkeeper was attacked by a pair of gunmen in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. 

In the footage you can see the man eating a taco at his vegetable stand when a motorcycle passes by and seconds later the motorcyclists return. Luckily for the merchant he was attentive to what was occurring within his surroundings. Once he realized what was happening, he immediately throws himself on the floor and takes refuge under his post. 

The motorcyclist begins to shoot in different directions but none of the gunshots hit their intended target. People who were near the place took cover to avoid being wounded. While the subjects flee on the motorcycle. As of the afternoon of this Friday, November 10 no one has been arrested for the attack.
