Gutfeld Decimates ‘Virtue-Signaling’ CNN and Brian Stelter’s Silly COVID Selfie Stunt

Breaking News Politics USA World

As we reported on Tuesday, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld’s move from Saturday nights to a Monday-Friday format is already paying “yuuge” dividends in the ratings column for Fox and Gutfeld —at the direct expense of CNN and “Cuomo Tonight.”

While Gutfeld has always been a guy in competition with himself — I watched him since the first “Red Eye” in 2007 — the delight he gets from sticking it to CNN couldn’t be more obvious, be it in the ratings-war, head-to-head competition, or in returning fire when one or more of the CNN clown car drivers are foolish enough to take a shot at him.

The “Don’t mess with me” host used his opening monologue on Monday’s “Gutfeld!” to absolutely annihilate “virtue-signaling” CNN, Jim Acosta, Chris Cuomo, and his favorite target, “low-rated,” “morbidly-obese,” pie-eating” Brian Stelter. Yeah, ouch.

Gutfeld began the monologue with a clip of Acosta using a desperate-looking Groundhog Day “joke” to mock Donald Trump as “a loser,” an obvious example of the emotional scars this petty little self-important man still bears after constant humiliation — most of it self-inflicted — during the four years of the Trump administration.

He then moved to the never-gets-old clip of Fredo — triumphantly emerging from his basement after his bout with COVID. The only problem was the whole thing was crap. Cuomo had not only been out of the basement and out of his house; he had earlier “famously” tried to pick a fight with a fellow Long Island resident.

And then Stelter. What can we say about Brian Mini-Me Stelter? Wait — let’s not.

Anyway, as we reported on Sunday, Stelter actually did a “legit” segment attempting to virtue-shame Fox News hosts for failing to air vaccination selfies — directly trying to conflate “Selfiegate” with Fox News being anti-vax. You can’t make this up.

Before Gutfeld fired down his jacked-up blowtorch, only ashes remained.

Here’s are a couple of excerpts, as transcribed by NewsBusters:

“So now, virtue signaling includes telling people to virtue signal. OK, Brian. I’ll bite. Why haven’t we made a vanity display of our vac status? Because it’s none of your [EXPLETIVE] business. And if — and if Brian — and if Brian — and if Brian believes personal medical info should be publicized, he can start with his cholesterol. His — his HCL numbers are lower than his ratings.”

“If he wants to do a fitness battle of the network stars, count me in. Unless it’s a pie eating contest. Now last week, I called CNN the shame network, because all it does is look down at Americans, but it’s actually worse than that. It’s now officially pro-peer pressure.”

“According to The Washington Post, one study attributed 30 percent of COVID hospitalizations to obesity. So rather than demanding we parade our virtuousness, Stelter should be showing us what he’s doing to get better. […] But see, it’s not about improving health, it’s about showing off while shaming you.

“Stelter is behaving like the guy who smoked cigarettes and then criticizes you for eating red meat. And the truth is, if you get a vaccine because someone on TV did, you’re an idiot. Take responsibility for yourself and make up your own mind. You can still do that in America, I think.”

Gutfeld’s humor is brutal because it cuts like a knife, much the same reason satire from the Babylon Bee is so damn funny. But you gotta have a steady stream of material.

Fear not: “The Most Trusted Name in News” clown car will keep sputtering along. Greg Gutfeld, for one, could not be happier.
