GOP Rep. Zinke Puts Forward First Anti-Hamas Proposal That Would Remove Terrorists Already on US Soil
Earlier on Friday, RedState wrote about Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) arresting an illegal alien from Africa wanted on terrorism charges by officials in Senegal. But as my colleague Ward Clark pointed out, this was only after the man was allowed to roam the United States unhindered — for two weeks.

Even more relevant to this piece is the story Ward quoted from another new RedState story — this time by Becky Noble — about “a Jordanian in Houston who was caught while plotting to kill Jews“:
Last month, Sohaib Abuayyash, a Jordanian national living in Houston, was arrested and now is behind bars for unlawful possession of a firearm by someone with a non-immigrant visa, but was also allegedly plotting an attack on Houston’s Jewish community. Federal officials claim that Abuayyash was studying how to make bombs and had posted to social media about wanting to kill Jews. U.S. Magistrate Judge Christina Bryan wrote in court documents that Abuayyash had talked about becoming a martyr in support of a religious cause and that he “has made statements that he wants to go to Gaza to fight.”
Now, Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) and other House Republicans have put forward a bill that aims to stop would-be, pro-Hamas terrorists from wreaking havoc in the United States — like they did in Israel on October 7:

Zinke, who served as secretary of the Interior Department under former President Trump, introduced legislation called the Safeguarding Americans from Extremism Act.
The legislation would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to halt granting visas, asylum and refuge for people who have a Palestinian Authority-issued passport.[…]
But as the letter introducing the proposal stresses, this is the first one with teeth — as it directs the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) to not just bar all Palestinian Authority passport holders from entering the U.S. or receiving visas. It also revokes the visas of and removes those who reached U.S. soil since Oct. 1.
Zinke spoke for many Americans when he said:
This legislation keeps America safe. I don’t trust the Biden Administration any more than I do the Palestinian Authority to screen who is allowed to come into the United States. This is the most anti-Hamas immigration legislation I have seen and it’s well deserved. Given the circumstances, the threats to our immigration system and the history of terrorists abusing refugee, asylum and visa processes all over the world, the requirements in this bill are necessary to keep Americans safe. This bill does exactly that.

The Safeguarding Americans from Extremism (SAFE) Act is co-sponsored by Reps. Andy Harris (R-MD), Aaron Bean (R-FL), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Scott DesJarlais (R-TN), Clay Higgins (R-LA), Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Bill Posey (R-FL), Barry Moore (R-AL), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Andy Biggs (R-AZ).
The most important role of the federal government, and all of those who swear to defend our nation, is to uphold the security of the American people. There’s absolutely no valid reason for Democrats or members of the Biden Administration to reject moves like this to keep us safe in the homeland.
