FGR accuses Gualberto Ramírez, former head of the SEIDO anti-kidnapping unit of torture and other crimes. Four Police Officers arrested last Friday in this case belong to INTERPOL Mexico.
Gualberto Ramírez Gutiérrez, is the former head of the Unit Specialized in Investigation of Crimes in Kidnapping Matters (UEIDMS), of the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Investigation (SEIDO), of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), until last 9 July.
He is now accused by the institution itself, among other crimes, of simulation of evidence, crimes against health, criminal association and torture, in a file that includes seven other public officials and a private lawyer.
According to the newspaper Reforma, based on sources of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, it indicates that the arrest warrant requested and granted by the Prosecutor’s Office derives from a complaint filed by Ana Patricia Moller Vuilleumier, on May 28 of this year, and ratified last June 18.
The sources of the newspaper indicated that of the nine people included in the accusations, four were arrested last Friday and are police officers of INTERPOL Mexico, who are attached to the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the FGR itself.
The arrest warrant was granted to the FGR by Felipe de Jesús Delgadillo Padierna, Control Judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center of the South Prison, who recently ratified the justified preventive detention of María del Rosario Robles Berlanga, former head of the secretariats Social Development (Sedesol) and Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), during the Government of Enrique Peña Nieto.
He is one and the same Control Judge that ordered the release of 27 of the 32 detainees in an operation in Tepito.
In addition, according to the same newspaper, Ramírez Gutiérrez was denounced by the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) for irregularities in the investigation of the disappearance of the 43 students of the Rural Normal Raúl Isidro Burgos de Ayotzinapa.
The now former federal official belonged to the UEIDMS and has held that position since there was still the Attorney General’s Office , ie the PGR, in the administration of former President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa.
