Ex-CNN Producer Urges His Former Network to Stop Don Lemon’s “Dangerous” Rhetoric

Breaking News Politics USA World

CNN host Don Lemon has had some really memorable moments during his show. Like the famous “white Trump supporters are the greatest threat to America.” And who can forget the time he declared that Jesus Christ was not perfect? Lemon’s rhetoric goes off into territory that many would deem as extreme, and apparently, that includes one former CNN producer who is now speaking out and urging his former network to reign Lemon in.

Recently, Lemon overdramatically asked his audience if life is precious enough to take action in favor of gun control.

“But with every deadly shooting in this country, the odds get worse and worse. Are you really willing to keep playing those odds? Haven’t we learned after this year of pandemic, a year of loss of life, isolation, mass death of nearly 550,000 Americans that life is just that precious? If not now, when? When will we ever learn? I don’t want to have to say those words again,” he said.

NewsBuster’s Managing Editor, Curtis Houck said that Lemon’s play to those suffering from depression during his dramatics was offensive, pointing out that he posted a suicide prevention hotline in the chyron before he went to break.

“As someone who’s struggled with depression and suicide, it’s offensive for Don to so callously say in this chyron that “every single one of us is just playing the odds at this point.” Before a break, Don brings up the National Suicide Prevention Line….absolutely insulting,” tweeted Houck.

This prompted former CNN producer, Steve Krakauer, to suggest that someone at CNN needs to “step in” as Lemon is taking things too far for the sake of sensationalism.

“Someone at CNN needs to step in. This hyperbole isn’t just offensive, it’s actually dangerous,” he tweeted.

This isn’t the first time someone from CNN has suggested that the network needs a change from its divisiveness. In February, longtime CNN executive Rick Davis told Brian Stelter that the network needs to strive to bring on more opinions and voices from the right of center, or figures that aren’t afraid to say when the media got it wrong.

It’s clear that CNN isn’t interested in doing any of that, leastwise Stelter or Lemon.

It’s rhetoric like Lemon’s that has driven away a good deal of America’s would-be CNN viewers. Of all the networks that suffered post-election slumps, CNN suffered the worst with Lemon being the biggest loser of the bunch.

Lemon actively sensationalized everything to the point of absurdity and, not only that, contributes to the racial divide in America. CNN would be wise to let Lemon know that he’s gone too far and needs to reel it back in, but it’s doubtful that the network will do anything. The propaganda-driven network has effectively made hard-left politics its bread and butter, with Lemon being the biggest offender of them all. The fact that those who are right of center are offended or feel attacked only makes CNN’s day a bit sweeter.

Houck put it well.

“I know I say it all the time, but I’ll say it again — with people like Don Lemon in such a prominent position, if you’re on the right, CNN truly hates you. They hate what you think, how you vote, and how you live your lives.”
