EU4Culture in Albania opens the third phase for grants “Recreate the past, build the future”
The Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation in Albania launched the third and final phase of the EU4Culture grant program “Recreate the past, build the future.”
Eight grants, with a total amount of 356,541 dollars, will support NGO initiatives for the development of handicrafts, innovative tourism, digital platforms, and cultural events in the municipalities of Tirana, Mirdita, Durrës, Kavaja, Rrogozhina, Kurbin, and Kruja, where significant cultural heritage sites affected by the 2019 earthquake are located.
The projects that will be financed by this program address a wide range of topics that will bring cultural heritage closer to the local community, strengthening their cultural identity and offering opportunities for economic growth.
According to the European Union delegation in Albania, the preservation of cultural heritage, the empowerment of young people, and the creation of links between traditional customs and tourism are just some of the aspects that these projects will support.
Eu4 Culture in Albania was instrumental in the rehabilitation and return to the public of several important cultural and spiritual heritage monuments such as the Medieval Hammam of Durrës, the Church of Rubik, the Ethnographic Museum of Kavaja, the castle of Ishëm and many others. / (January 6)
