Searching for a new detective series to add to your watchlist? Netflix’s Dept. Q is at your service. Created by Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit) and based on Adler-Olsen’s novel series, the new British crime drama follows grumpy DCI Carl Morck (Goode) as he mentally recovers from his own shooting and returns to work to head Department Q, a newly formed cold case unit designed to keep him out of trouble. With help from Akram (Alexej Manvelov), DC Rose Dickson (Leah Byrne), and his pal DCI James Hardy (Jamie Sives), Morck and his team set out to make a difference by solving Merritt Lingard’s (Chloe Pirrie) four-year-old missing persons case. With a gripping mystery, compelling characters, and a stellar performance from Goode, you’ll end Dept. Q‘s debut season longing for a Season 2 renewal. Fingers crossed that we haven’t seen the last of Carl and company cracking cold cases.
