‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Comes to Digital, But When Will ‘Deadpool 3’ be Streaming on Disney+?
Get your guns loaded and your claws sharpened, because Deadpool & Wolverine, aka Deadpool 3, will soon be available to buy and rent online.
The latest Deadpool movie brought together two of Marvel’s biggest stars, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, on the big screen. Perhaps it’s no surprise, in that case, that the film was a massive financial success, earning over $689 million at the worldwide box office. Directed by Shawn Levy—with a script written by Levy, Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells—this is the first Disney-producer Deadpool movie, following the Fox-Disney merger in 2019.
Don’t worry, it’s still rated R. (It’s the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time!) And, despite that rating, we still expect to see it on the family-friendly streaming service that is Disney+, eventually.
But Deadpool & Wolverine isn’t streaming on Disney+ just quite yet. Read on for everything you need to know about where to watch Deadpool & Wolverine online, and when we expect the Deadpool & Wolverine Disney+ release date to be.
Where to watch Deadpool and Wolverine on streaming:
Beginning on Tuesday, October 1 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time—which is also September 30 at 9 p.m Pacific Time—Deadpool & Wolverine will be available to buy digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the movie costs $29.99 to buy, and $24.99 to rent. You can also get the movie as part of the Deadpool 3-Movie Collection, which includes Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Deadpool & Wolverine, all for $49.99.
Deadpool & Wolverine is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see Deadpool & Wolverine streaming on Disney+ soon.
When will Deadpool and Wolverine be streaming on Disney Plus?
Deadpool & Wolverine will likely stream on Disney+ before the end of the year, because it is a Disney movie. All of the new Disney theatrical movies—which now includes Deadpool, thanks to the Disney-Fox merger—end up streaming on Disney+, often about four to six months after opening in theaters. Last year, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opened in theaters on May 5, was released digitally on July 7, and began streaming on Disney+ on August 2—about three months after opening in theaters. Inside Out 2 also came to Disney+ about three months after opening in theaters.
If Deadpool & Wolverine follows a similar release strategy, we can expect to see Deadpool & Wolverine streaming on Disney+ around January 2025.
That said, the Deadpool & Wolverine Disney+ release date has not yet officially been announced. This is all guesswork, so take it with a grain of salt. For now, if you want to watch Deadpool & Wolverine at home, you can buy a digital copy of the movie, starting tonight.
