The streets of San Gaspar in Tonala, Jalisco, witnessed an armed confrontation between rival groups. Javier Cabral said that when police officers arrived at the crime scene they witnessed nine subjects wearing black clothing. The nine individuals were all shooting at a house where a woman and a man were residing. The police officers were shot at by the assailants, but they were able to repel the armed aggression. Also, while some police officers repelled the armed aggression, other police officers evacuated a nearby middle school where they focused on keeping students, and teachers safe. The nine hitmen were able to escape the scene, but a woman and a man who were the target stayed inside the house and were captured by the police officers.
