Andor Season 2 is a masterpiece. Ostensibly just a prequel series explaining how Rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) found himself leading the mission to steal the Death Star plans in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Andor has instead become a profound piece of anti-fascist art. Creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy has once again created a tableau of mature stories about people struggling to exist under the hellacious iron fist of the Galactic Empire. Cassian Andor finds himself torn between the call to lead and the need to protect the people he loves. Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) is discovering the true cost of standing up to evil. Oh, and Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) is asking the ISB to help turn a “necessary” genocide into a PR win. Andor is a meticulously plotted drama full of staggering performances, glorious set design, and real human passion. It’s the must-watch show of 2025.
