‘Sugar’ Season 2

What to Watch

Widow’s Bay just wrapped its acclaimed debut season, but Apple TV still has more genre-bending shows to keep subscribers happy. New episodes of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed drop on Wednesdays, plus Sugar — the neo-noir detective series starring Colin Farrell and one MEGA twist (IYKYK) — just made its highly-anticipated Season 2 return. John Sugar is back with a compelling new case, and this time around, he’s helping local boxer Danny Moon (Jin Ha) search for his missing older brother Ji (Raymond Lee). As he carries out his latest investigation, he finds himself clashing with Lieutenant Ray Vega (Tony Dalton) and getting to know the mysterious Charlotte Fischer (Laura Donnelly). After Season 1’s revelation that his friend Henry (Jason Butler Harner) was somehow involved in his sister’s heartbreaking disappearance, Season 2 finds Sugar questioning his place in the world and struggling to maintain the moral high ground. Farrell is as smooth as ever in what feels like a bespoke role, and Sugar’s sophomore season will hopefully deliver some sweet answers to burning Season 1 questions.
