Will There Be a Season 2 of ‘The Testaments’?

It’s been quite the month over on Hulu.

A special episode of The Bear, Gary, written by and starring the dynamic duo of Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal, surprisingly debuted on the platform; the new Lisa Ann Walte’s stand-up special, It Was An Accident, premiered; and streamers obsessed with Netflix’s newish documentary The Crash found their way to Hulu to watch the Mean Girl Murders episode about the shocking case (Season 2, Episode 7).

The buzziest addition to Hulu, however, has to be Bruce Miller’s dystopian drama The Testaments.

Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, the popular continuation of The Handmaid’s Tale is a coming-of-age story that follows two teens (played by Chase Infiniti and Lucy Halliday) as they “navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives,” an institution where obedience is brutally enforced.

The series has been met with rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, currently boasting impressive 87% and 76% scores, respectively, on Rotten Tomatoes.

Will Hulu’s hit series be back for a second season, or is it more of a one-and-done sitch? Here’s everything you need to know.

Will There Be A Season 2 of The Testaments?

Oh, you bet. They can’t leave us hanging after THAT finale. On May 20, Hulu announced that The Testaments had been renewed for a second season.

The series experienced strong growth throughout the season, with the fourth episode, per Deadline, seeing a 20% increase in viewership compared to the premiere after one day of streaming.

When Will The Testaments Season 2 Be on Hulu?

There’s no official release date, but the first three seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale had about a year break in between seasons. We expect a similar timetable for The Testaments, with our best guess being the summer of 2027.
