‘Seeking Persephone’

If you’re a fan of old school Regency romance, full of tender glances and terrible yearning, then Seeking Persephone is for you. The squeaky clean series rejects the glitz and steam of contemporary hits like Bridgerton to get back to the basics of Austen-esque romance. The poor and beautiful Persephone Lancaster (Ryann Bailey) is essentially sold in marriage to the wealthy and reclusive Duke of Kielder (Jake Stormoen). What follows is a classic “Beauty and the Beast” trope, where the tender-hearted beauty manages to pierce through the gruff, disfigured (yet still handsome!) nobleman’s frigid facade. Seeking Persephone is a perfect binge for a quiet night in full of old school longing.
