‘Young Sherlock’

Prime Video’s Young Sherlock is the latest entry in Guy Ritchie’s portfolio of “handsome British rogues getting into fights set to modern rock” projects, but it might also be the most fun. Hero Fiennes Tiffin stars as the titular young Sherlock Holmes. Not yet the assured man and genius detective we know and love, he’s instead a wayward 19-year-old who finds himself working as a Scout at Oxford after spending a stint in prison (for giving a judge cheek, mostly). Immediately, however, Sherlock’s smarts shine through and he becomes fast friends with another super smart chap named James Moriarty (Dónal Finn). When the two rebellious young men find themselves accused of stealing an ancient scroll, they work together to solve the case… Only to find themselves in an even bigger and more dangerous conspiracy. Young Sherlock is a total delight thanks to its cheeky wit and charismatic young stars.
