42′ TRY: Taylan May scores for the Tigers

By Michael Doyle

Wests Tigers are level.

The Tigers shifted to the left, and centre Taylan May sliced through the Canberra defence to score.

It took just 90 seconds after the break to score.

Such a silly penalty from Canberra halfback Ethan Sanders.

Adam Doueihi attempts the sideline conversion to retake the lead. But it just shaves the upright.

35′ Canberra has another attacking chance

By Michael Doyle

Wests fullback Jahream Bula has dropped a kick, while under no pressure.

It gives Canberra a scrum, 19 metres away from the Tigers goal-line.

Wests defend their line very, very well.

A kick from the Raiders at the end of the set is caught by the Tigers, but the Raiders have a penalty.

Jarome Luai was penalised for an escort.

25′ Raiders blow their best chance in 20 minutes

By Michael Doyle

It feels like the last 20 minutes has been played in Canberra’s territory.

But the Raiders finally got a chance to attack, and they came so close to making something of it.

Centre Savelio Tamale gets around a defender and runs down the left wing.

Tamale then produces a wicked step off his left foot and runs infield, with the Tigers’ defence in trouble.

But Tamale throws a flick pass that  just misses the grasp of Noah Martin.

If that pass went to hand, I think it’s a try.

15′ Tigers hunting second try

By Michael Doyle

Wests Tigers are on top at Leichhardt Oval.

The Raiders keep making errors, and it is putting themselves under pressure.

A poor pass from Joe Tapine, followed by a high tackle, gave Wests a great chance to score.

A one-on-one strip from Tom Starling ended that raid.

Raiders fullback Kaeo Weekes then failed to catch a ball, and it gave Wests another shot at the in-goal.

Wests forced a dropout with a nice grubber kick from Apisai Koroisau.
