‘Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat’

What to Watch

In 2023, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky’s innovative docu-style series Jury Duty snuck up on us in the best possible way. A meticulously-planned fake case and a courtroom full of actors — including James Marsden playing Asshole James Marsden — successfully convinced unsuspecting non-actor, Ronald Gladden, that he was serving on America’s most chaotic jury. As the epic prank show filmed over 17 days, Gladden surprised cast, crew, and viewers by becoming the wholesome real-life hero we didn’t know we needed. The ambitious series was hilarious, heartfelt, masterfully orchestrated, and refreshingly original. To put it simply, Jury Duty captured lightning in a bottle. And in Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, the team does it again! In Season 2, non-actor Anthony Norman — a 25-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee — is hired to help run an offsite corporate retreat for the fictional, family-owned company, Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce. A stacked new cast of actors and comedians bring their A-games, steering clear of the malice of typical reality TV hoaxes without sacrificing an iota of humor or unpredictability. Based on the first three episodes that hit Prime Video on March 20, Company Retreat is a hit and Norman is a national treasure.
