Where is ‘Landman’ Filmed? Drop a Pin On The Show’s Real Life Filming Locations In Texas
You really couldn’t have Landman, the Paramount+ drama where the oil biz and family bonds are always in a boom and bust cycle, without Texas. Obviously the Lone Star State is where Tommy Norris lives and works – Fort Worth, the city so much of the series revolves around, is in real life the home for the American Association of Landmen. But in recent years, Texas is also where Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Landman and the force behind so many shows in his hit Sheridan-O-Verse, has moved a huge chunk of his professional operations. Sheridan, who was raised in Fort Worth, even purchased the area’s historic 6666 Ranch, featured in Yellowstone.
So where was Landman filmed? Was Landman filmed in Fort Worth, TX? What real Fort Worth locations are featured in Landman? Well, Texas is a big enough place to hold the answers to all these questions. And the series isn’t shy about flaunting its deep connections to the state. Remember Angela and Ainsley’s conversation in Episode 1 of Season 2, as they considered the provenance of Texas Christian University’s Horned Frog statue? The university’s promoting that clip from the series on their Instagram!
Where is Landman Filmed? Is The Patch Cafe Real?
Well, Fort Worth, located just minutes from Dallas, really is the epicenter of “Landmania” as we know it. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Landman shooting locations for the banquet scenes early on in Season 2 included Ralph’s bar at the Crescent Hotel, the Bowie Hotel, and Dickies Arena, located downtown. The paper also drops a pin on the real-life location of Ariana Medina’s house, which of course figured heavily into Season1 of the show as well. It’s in a residential neighborhood full of ranches and bungalows known as Benbrook.

While Landman films regularly in the Forth Worth central business district and its many residential neighborhoods, it’s also been known to shoot hours outside of it, like in Jacksboro. And while we sensed the interiors of the M-Tex corporate house were not a real place – Angela is always changing the decor in there, anyway – The Patch Cafe is one place in Landman we honestly thought was real as hell. Alas! It does not exist! According to reports, scenes for what we know as the Patch, the local hub everyone hits for plates of chicken fried steak and buckets of Michelob Ultra Lights, are shot at an old Fort Worth body shop, customized special for the production.
When it comes to where Landman is filmed, even Taylor Sheridan’s professional status plays into it. With the creative’s big move to NBC Universal, the hundreds of thousands of square feet of sound stages he has built in the Fort Worth area are sure to remain booked, no matter what kind of trouble Tommy Norris gets into on Landman.
