Jon Stewart Doesn’t Believe Trump Has “Nothing To Hide” In Epstein Files: “He Does Not Want These Things Out There”
Jon Stewart is not buying Donald Trump’s recent call to release the Epstein files.
After Trump changed his tune this weekend in a TruthSocial post and encouraged House Republicans to “vote to release the Epstein files,” Stewart reminded viewers during Monday’s (Nov. 18) broadcast of The Daily Show that Trump always had the power to declassify the Epstein files as president of the United States.
“If he had nothing to hide, he could have declassified and released these files himself at any time,” Stewart pointed out. “How do I know this? A legal expert named Donald ‘Jurisprudence’ Trump said so.”
The Comedy Central host then shared a clip of Trump boasting about this in 2022, saying, “If you’re the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying it’s declassified. Even by thinking about it.”
Stewart does not believe that Trump has “nothing to hide” by supporting the release of the Epstein files. “It’s very clear he does not want these things out there,” he said.
At another point during his monologue Monday, Stewart pointed to one email in particular from Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, in which he told Jeffrey to ask Steve Bannon if “Putin has the photos of Trump blowing Bubba.”

“And I know what you’re probably thinking: ‘Jeffrey Epstein had a brother?’” Stewart joked. “He did! Apparently.” Stewart then offered some clarification from Mark himself about “the second thing that you might be thinking,” in which he verified the “Bubba” in question “was not a reference to former president Bill Clinton,” as many previously thought.
“Thank you for clearing that up. No further questions, your honor,” Stewart said.
The Daily Show host Josh Johnson also weighed in on the Epstein files recently after Megyn Kelly and other “sensationalist media” pundits attempted to “downplay” Epstein’s crimes.
“As for Epstein, he wasn’t into like 8-year-olds but he liked the very young teen types,” Kelly said in one clip shared on The Daily Show. In another she said, “Theres a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old. It’s just whatever. It’s sick.”
“How the hell was Megyn Kelly ever an attorney?” Johnson asked, before impersonating Kelly and adding, “Your Honor, my client only engaged in diet pedophilia.”
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. New episodes stream next day on Paramount+.
