Sunny Hostin Reveals What Kim Kardashian Told Her About The Bar Exam On ‘The View’: “She Was Very Nervous”

Sunny Hostin and the hosts of The View issued some words of encouragement to Kim Kardashian after she announced she did not pass the bar exam as she had hoped.

Hostin revealed during Monday’s broadcast that she had a personal conversation with the All’s Fair star about the California bar exam, which she noted is “one of the hardest bars” to pass in the country.

“I spoke to her last time she was here. She studied for that, she prepared for it and Kim, you just take it again. You just take it again,” Hostin urged.

She later revealed that Kardashian was “very nervous about taking the bar.”

“I asked her, ‘How are you feeling?’ She said, ‘The last time when I was taking the baby bar, I was like I passed it. I passed it.’ And when she didn’t she thought to herself, ‘Okay, this time when I took it, I’m just going to sit in it and maybe I didn’t pass it,’” Hostin recounted to her co-hosts. “And that was the right thing for her to do. And she’s just going to take it again.”

Kardashian shared the news on her social media this weekend, writing, “Well… I’m not a lawyer yet. I just played a very well-dressed one on TV.”

Her statement continued, “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up – just more studying and even more determination […] Falling short isn’t failure – it’s fuel. I as so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more.”

The reality star – who now plays a divorce attorney in Ryan Murphy‘s new series — has been studying law for six years. When she visited the show in October, Kardashian asked the ladies of The View to “pray” for her to pass the exam. She also shared how she prepared for the exam this time.

“The night before I took the bar, my mom came in my room and she gave me my dad’s legal briefcase with his initials that were engraved in it, that he used, and his stationary,” she told The View at the time. “She had stationary with the same font and the same everything made for me. We said a prayer, we did our thing.”

During Monday’s broadcast, Goldberg also encouraged Kardashian to take the exam again. She praised her for pursuing this new career after her Paris hotel room was burglarized in 2016.

“This girl has, for me, took a bad situation and turned it around,” Goldberg said. “This girl went to France and got jacked. They stole her jewelry and she doesn’t push those things, she does what she needs to do.”

“I have a lot of respect for her and I always have because she always holds her head up high,” Goldberg continued. “Just take the test again. Many have tried. You do it until you get it where it needs to be.”
