‘Splitsville’

The funniest movie you’ll watch all year is now available to stream at home. I’m talking about Splitsville, the new romantic comedy from director/writer Michael Angelo Covino. When Ashley (Adria Arjona) asks Carey (co-screenwriter Kyle Marvin) for a divorce, he runs to his best friend Paul (Covino) and his wife Julie (Dakota Johnson) for support. When Carey finds out that the secret to Paul and Julie’s happiness is an open marriage, he crosses a line that throws everyone’s lives into utter chaos. Splitsville is a classic screwball comedy with fight choreography that rivals any action movie to hit theaters this year, but it’s also modern in its approach to romance, what with the open marriage and other complicated relationship dynamics. Make sure to add this under-the-radar 2025 release to your watchlist ASAP.
